I created Backdraft in 1991 as a rib sauce at my cousin’s BBQ restaurant for my parents and myself. We love peppers and we love’em Hot, so I made it good & hot using red savina Habaneros, but we wanted flavor as well. I went to work and came up with a unique smokey flavor that complimented the heat, “Backdraft, the hot sauce”. Customers started asking for my sauce on their ribs and the word spread. Soon I was making Backdraft and bottling it for my family & friends and it just took off.
The next year I started taking Backdraft to food shows and the fun began. Awards from People’s Choice to Championships started rolling in everywhere I took Backdraft. For years I only sold Backdraft to family, friends, and a few restaurants. Fast forward to 2020; I have been convinced that I had to make Backdraft available to the public on a nationwide basis so I created Flaming Bullz as a platform for anyone to get fix of Backdraft.
